How to find my Lost phone
To find your device, there must be some prerequisites
- Lost Phone must be turned on.
- Lost Phone must be Signed in with the Google account.
- Location must be turned on in Lost Phone.
- Lost Phone must be connected to any mobile network (or) wifi connection.
- Find My Device option must be enabled in Lost Phone.
Steps
- Open your favorite Browser.
- Visit the URL android.com/find.
- you are asked to Sign in using your Gmail id and password for Find My Device service provided by Google.
- Sign in using Gmail id present in your Lost phone.
- After you Sign in, a Find My Device page like below appears,
- It displays the details like device name, battery percentage, and SIM operator.
- Click on the refresh icon, to find the current location of your Lost phone.
- Note, it gives the approximate location.
Play Sound
- Sometimes, we may place our phone in someplace around us and search for it. And you can't able to find it. you can use this option Play Sound.
- Click on the Play Sound button, the phone will ring for 5 minutes even the phone is set to silent.
- To stop ringing the sound, after you find the phone, click Stop Ringing button (or) press the power button of the phone you find.
- If you can't able to find the Lost phone around you, select Secure Device option to protect it from others.
Secure Device
- Secure Device option enables you to Lock the phone and sign out of your Google account.
- If your phone doesn't have a screen lock, it asks you to set a new password.
- Remember the password, you cannot change it again. Once you get the Lost phone in your hand, you can only unlock it using this password.
- Additionally, you can add a Recovery message and Phone number for contact details.
- Click Secure Device button, it will lock the Lost phone and displays the message on the lock screen like below,
- It asks to activate your Google account. It shows a notification "Account activation required".
- By clicking the notification "Account activation required", you need to verify your account.
- You have to verify your account by giving the correct password of your Google account.
- Then you can use your phone as usual.
Erase Device
- If you feel like that, you can't get the Lost phone to your hands, you can even erase all your phone data permanently and protect your privacy.
- Note that in mind, after erasing data you can't locate the device.
- If the Lost phone is offline, data will start to erase once it comes back online.
- Choose this option only you feel like, you can't get the Lost phone to your hands. To do that follow the steps below,
- Click on Erase Device button it will ask you to verify it is you, type the password, and click next.
- It will ask confirmation that "Permanently erase all data from your Lost phone", click erase.
- It will erase all your data from that phone, your data is protected from theft.
